Year 1 have been practicing their speaking and listening skills for debating. We took part in a class debate titled 'Should we always eat healthy food?' We worked in groups to discuss whether we would answer the question with yes or no. Then we became very persuasive and started debating with the other team. Some of us put forward some very strong arguments!!

Today in Numeracy we practiced taking away numbers. We love learning in the outdoors so went outside to practice using a range of PE equipment. We skipped, ran, jumped and hopped. It was great fun!
Class 10 are taking part in a Sunflower growing competition run by Celsian Education. On Friday we planted our sunflower seeds and discussed what we would need to do to make sure they grow very tall. We decided that our sunflowers will need plenty of water, sunlight and space. We have placed them on a window sill in Reception where there is lots of sunshine!
We will take loads of pictures to show the progress of our sunflowers! In Year 1 we have been looking at the book 'Sir Charlie Stinky Socks and the Really Dreadful Spell.' Today we started to plan a new adventure for Sir Charlie. We went out in the outdoors to explore and on our journey we found a range of materials which would represent different objects and characters in our story! We found some leaves that were actually beanstalks and stones which were really stepping stones to cross a crocodile filled pond!! We can't wait to write our new adventures. |
