Today a special visitor has been to our school, lightning McQueen wrote us a letter telling us that he visited our school last night and wanted to use our school as a racing track!! Today we wrote letters to him telling him that we would make ramps and a racing track around the school. We were excited and hope to get a reply!!
In Literacy on Tuesday 20th May Year 1 took part in their first class debate! They were asked to debate whether children should get the car to school. Everyone loved taking part and each person expressed their opinions. Well done Year 1!
Year 1 have had a very exciting day today!! They took part in Jamie Oliver's Food Revolution Day. The children cooked along with Jamie Oliver Live from London. They worked in groups to make a tasty Rainbow Salad Wrap. They all loved getting their hands in and working together to grate a range of vegetables and mix a lovely salad dressing. Everyone had a fantastic time and even went home with some to try and a certificate too!!
Today in Numeracy Year 1 have been practicing their doubles. We sang our doubles song then in pairs we played doubles board games. We all had a great time and remembered all our doubles up to double 12!
Today we took part in our hook in to start our topic 'Where in the World?' We completed a range of activities including writing a postcard, creating the giants causeway, designing a Chinese dragon, constructing modes of transport and decorating the Irish flag. We all had a fantastic time!!
