Once again Friday brought us another surprise!! We were planning to have an assembly but we were interrupted by a loud snoring sound. Mrs Ferris quickly awoke to tell us all about her dream, she saw a knight and a princess in school! BUT it was not a dream at all. Connor the Knight and Lady Lucy burst into the infant hall begging us to help them find their way back home. We returned to the classroom to think of some ideas and used drama to do a short performance of Connor and Lucy's return through the Mini Castle door! What a day!!
Oh no!! An Egyptian Mummy has escaped! Another door activated in school this morning with the news that a mummy has escaped from the Hancock Museum. We hunted around the school to find clues then created a Wanted Poster to help the museum. Watch it!! Keep your eyes peeled for an Egyptian Mummy in Burnopfield!
As part of out topic 'where in the world' we have been looking at London and today we made the London Eye. We used construction, tools and various methods. We looked at images of the London Eye and manipulated materials to create our own Eye! we worked in groups to create the London Eye and we talked about our designs and how we could improve them. We looked at the different shapes which make the London Eye and how similar our model was to the Eye. We had lots of fun!!
This week saw the next stop on our Where in the World topic tour! We arrived in London and found out some amazing facts, including the fact that it take 30 minutes for the London Eye to go all the way around. Then we used a range of materials to make our own London Eye's! We worked extremely well in teams and made some excellent London Eye models.
